Project Summary
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) term modification to previously awarded contract N6339424C0004. This procurement provides in-service engineering and life cycle support services for the Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) in support of the Digital Engineering Department of NSWC PHD. General Dynamics Mission Systems Inc. (GDMS) is responsible for providing overall in-service engineering and life cycle support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems and Intelligence (C5I) systems critical engineering; design; integration; test and evaluation; software development, testing, and load; system upgrade/replacement planning on board and at sites; logistics product development and distribution; configuration management of the systems and logistics products; as well as training systems. These activities will be executed in support of the shipboard LCS C5I equipment, components, software, training and support equipment. The contract action was not awarded competitively (Approved J&A for Use of Other than Full and Open Competition: Statutory Authority: 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). Rationale justifying use of cited Statutory Authority is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), when the services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements.
