Project Summary

Order issued against a single-award BPA. The Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) requires Architect and Engineering (A&E) design services to execute structural and electrical modifications to Building 46 to house new electrical switchgear. The project includes removal of the existing main floor slab, structural reinforcement, load path modifications, architectural integration, and design of a new switchgear room meeting all code required access and clearance requirements. The requirement further includes electrical engineering coordination with Pepco for new service applications, utility plans, and service pathway approvals. Mechanical and fire protection design tasks are included to convert the existing storage rooms into a rated electrical equipment room.
