Project Summary
The Conference Control System (CCS-W), located at the ATCSCC in Warrenton, VA, is a high-capacity telecommunications conferencing system used by specialists to coordinate with national and international aviation and weather organizations. ATCSCC specialists rely on the CCS-W to establish and maintain pre-programmed telecommunications conferences, expediting air traffic flow and enhancing the safety and integrity of the NAS. Operational since March 2011, the system currently supports up to 120 operator positions and facilitates more than 500 pre-programmed voice conferences, each accommodating up to 1,000 participants. A testbed (replica) configuration is maintained at the contractor’s facility in Columbia, MD, allowing for troubleshooting and testing of engineering changes or upgrades without disrupting the operational system.
